«Refractions of a Gesture» is an interdisciplinary artistic project that seamlessly blends visual arts, digital art, performing arts, and experimental sound art. This live performative installation integrates these diverse disciplines into a cohesive and dynamic experience.

On stage, the visual artist creates a large-scale abstract work, which is directly engaged with by the performer as she interacts physically with the canvas. The resulting painting embodies the movement, energy, and dynamism of this interaction.

In parallel, sensors attached to the visual artist’s hand capture the frequencies of each brushstroke’s movement. These sounds are then repurposed by the sound artist, who uses synthesisers and keyboards to create an accompaniment of mysterious, atmospheric, and rhythmic soundscapes. Simultaneously, the digital artist intervenes in the pictorial work in real-time, capturing and processing images, which are then projected onto a screen, presenting a new, evolving version of the piece.
